My name is Christian Leonel Velez Marrero, but you might know me as Joker Tattoo. I was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and I grew up in Palo Hincado, Barranquitas. From a young age, art has always been a huge part of my life, and I started drawing as a child. It was something I always felt passionate about, and as I grew older, I realized that art was more than just a hobby—it was my calling.

After high school, I worked in construction, using my earnings to buy my first tattoo equipment. I began practicing tattooing on my own, refining my craft over time. However, I made the decision to leave Puerto Rico and move to the United States. That's when I met the incredible team at Eminence Ink. Joining the team was a turning point in my life. It’s been an extraordinary experience, and it’s truly where I’ve grown into the tattoo artist I am today.

Though I’m versatile and love experimenting with different styles, I’ve found that black and grey tattooing is where I feel most at home. I love how the shading and contrasts in black and grey tattoos allow me to create depth and bring designs to life in a unique way. But no matter the style, I approach each tattoo with the same passion and commitment to deliver something special to my clients.

Being a part of Eminence Ink has given me the opportunity to push my skills further, work alongside some amazing artists, and continue learning every day. I'm thankful for the chance to do what I love and for the incredible people I've met along the way.

Mi nombre es Christian Leonel Velez Marrero, pero tal vez me conozcas como Joker Tattoo. Nací en Bayamon, Puerto Rico, y crecí en Palo Hincado, Barranquitas. Desde muy joven, el arte siempre ha sido una gran parte de mi vida, y empecé a dibujar desde niño. Fue algo que siempre me apasionó y, a medida que fui creciendo, me di cuenta de que el arte era algo más que un pasatiempo: era mi vocación.

Después del instituto, trabajé en la construcción y con lo que ganaba me compré mi primer equipo de tatuaje. Empecé a tatuar por mi cuenta, perfeccionando mi arte con el tiempo. Sin embargo, tomé la decisión de dejar Puerto Rico y trasladarme a Estados Unidos. Fue entonces cuando conocí al increíble equipo de Eminence Ink. Unirme al equipo fue un punto de inflexión en mi vida. Ha sido una experiencia extraordinaria, y es realmente donde he crecido en el artista del tatuaje que soy hoy.

Aunque soy versátil y me encanta experimentar con diferentes estilos, he descubierto que el tatuaje en negro y gris es donde me siento más a gusto. Me encanta cómo el sombreado y los contrastes de los tatuajes en negro y gris me permiten crear profundidad y dar vida a los diseños de una forma única. Pero no importa el estilo, me acerco a cada tatuaje con la misma pasión y compromiso para ofrecer algo especial a mis clientes.

Ser parte de Eminence Ink me ha dado la oportunidad de empujar mis habilidades aún más, trabajar junto a algunos artistas increíbles, y seguir aprendiendo cada día. Estoy agradecido por la oportunidad de hacer lo que me gusta y por la gente increíble que he conocido en el camino.
